Three Maplewood and South Orange residents have been making music for over 20 years as part of Walk the Dog and, more recently, as Laredo.  

We have some originals but love to play covers from Dylan to Dawes and Croce to Carlile. We are often joined by guests from the local music scene. And we stock a few percussion instruments so young children can join our band at outdoor performances.

Laredo has performed at local restaurants and outdoor venues in Summit, South Orange, and Cranford, and, of course, a few times at Maplewoodstock, including a pinch-hit role when a band cancelled due to COVID.  One day’s notice is not a problem for a band that knows over 100 tunes.  Gary Shippy, drummer, is a co-founder of Maplewoodstock.
