WHEN IS UNDER COVER MUSIC FEST?

Under Cover Music Fest will take place on Sat May 30th 2PM-10PM in the Sloan Street parking. Music will be playing from 2pm to 10pm so you can arrive at any time. If you want to see a specific artist, please check the lineup. Of course, the earlier you arrive, the better the spot you’ll get for your lawn chairs (and the more music you’ll get to enjoy).

WHERE IS THE EVENT LOCATED?

Join the fun in the Sloan Street Parking Lot (12 Sloan Street) South Orange, NJ 07079. The lot will be closed to traffic all day.

BEER GARDEN DETAILS?

South Orange Downtown will be hosting a ticketed Beer Garden in the Sloan Street Parking Lot. Beer and hard seltzers will be available for purchase and SODT will accept cash, credit cards and tap to pay. Alcoholic beverages will only be served to those who present a valid ID of 21+ and receive a wristband. Alcoholic beverages are NOT allowed outside of the event footprint.

IS THERE FOOD PURCHASE?

Local downtown businesses will be participating as food vendors for this event. They will be serving food for purchase in the Sloan Street Lot footprint. The full list is coming soon.

IS THERE SHADE FOR THE AUDIENCE?

Since the event is in the parking lot, shade will be limited. Feel free to bring a personal umbrella if you’d like.

IS THE FESTIVAL ENCLOSED?

Yes, the entire event is enclosed in the parking lot. You are free to enter and exit as you please, but you cannot exit the fest with alcohol.

WHAT KIND OF LAWN CHAIRS CAN WE BRING?

Lawn chairs must be low-profile to allow for the best sight lines for everyone. No full size tall lawn chairs please (no higher than 9” off the ground).

CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD & DRINK?

Yes, outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome. We encourage you to support local businesses by picking up your goods from a nearby South Orange merchant. Food will also be available for purchase from vendors at the event. Please note that outside alcohol is not permitted. Alcoholic beverages must be purchased inside the event.

IS THERE A COST?

Under Cover Music Fest is FREE thanks to the generosity of our sponsors. Food and drinks (alcohol and non-alcoholic) will be available for an additional cost.

WHO IS PLANNING THE FESTIVAL?

Under Cover Music Fest is produced by the South Orange Downtown and the Village of South Orange. Thank you to all of the Village departments and agencies for helping make the festival a success.

WHAT KIND OF MUSIC WILL WE HEAR?

WILL THERE BE KID-FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES AT THE EVENT?

Yes, the South Mountain YMCA will host the Y-Zone time 2PM-7PM. There will be lots of free games and activities for your little ones.

South Orange Downtown will also be hosting a brand new inflatable section.

CAN I BE A VENDOR?

Under Cover Fest is not a typical street fair, we are not accepting vendor applications. If you feel that you have a brand which matches our theme of live music in a casual setting, please send us a note at ucmf@southorangedowntown.org.

CAN I VOLUNTEER?

Absolutely! We’d love to have you help us with all sorts of roles at the festival. Please visit our Sign Up Genius to select a specific spot or send a note to lisa@southorangedowntown.org.

IS THERE A RAIN DATE?

Yes, in the event of inclement weather, this event will be rescheduled from Sat May 30th to Sun May 31st from 12PM-8PM.

WHERE CAN WE PARK?

All Village lots except the Sloan Street Parking and the Firehouse Lot where the event will held are open. Please check out the map below for the available parking options and follow all parking signs and regularions.
